The Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival offers foodies a chance to get within arm’s reach of their favorite celebrity chefs and experience what they enjoy watching on TV up close and in person. “The NYCWFF is a place where you can taste a lot of different foods from a lot of different chefs around the country,” celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis says. “A foodie’s heaven.”

The 11th annual NYCWFF will take place Oct. 11-14 at various venues throughout New York City, however Piers 92 and 94 usually serve as the festival’s culinary epicenter of activity, hosting many signature events. The festival attracts more than 50,000 attendees, world-renowned chefs, winemakers, spirits producers and culinary personalities for a weekend filled with unique experiences.

With more than 150 partners – including the Food Network & Cooking Channel and Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits – attendees will be able to sample a wide array of wines and spirits, discover new products and taste carefully crafted dishes created by world-class talent and up-and-coming chefs. Additionally, the festival boasts more than 300 chefs/restaurants present during the weekend at about 70 events that take place throughout the weekend.

“NYCWFF provided us a unique opportunity to participate in one of the top food festivals in the U.S. and organically integrate our brands into this unique culinary experience,” Coca-Cola says.

NYCWFF began as a one-night event called SWEET in the fall of 2007. In 2008, founder and director Lee Brian Schrager, senior vice president of communications and corporate social responsibility at Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, launched the inaugural NYCWFF that has quickly grown to mirror its sister festival, the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival, or SOBEWFF.

To date, NYCWFF has raised $11.5 million to help fight hunger. All net proceeds benefit the No Kid Hungry® campaign and Food Bank for New York City. Visit NoKidHungry.org and foodbanknyc.org for more information. “The main purpose of the entire weekend is not just to eat and drink,” celebrity chef Rachael Ray says. “We are raising funds to help feed people. That feeds your soul.”

Experiencing NYCWFF

Fans will have the opportunity to secure their seats at some of the most popular events when tickets for NYCWFF go on sale in June. Fan-favorite events include the Burger Bash® hosted by Rachael Ray, Tacos & Tequila hosted by Aarón Sánchez, Pigs and Pints hosted by Robert Irvine, Greenmarket Brunch hosted by Geoffrey Zakarian, Variety presents Broadway Tastes, Lucky Chopsticks: An Asian Night Market hosted by Andrew Zimmer and Oyster Bash.

Last year, NYCWFF hosted new events in celebration of the 10th anniversary, including a celebration of women mixologists and chefs at Femme Fatale with Speed Rack hosted by Anne Burrell, a Family Italian Harvest Party hosted by Giada De Laurentiis and her daughter Jade, Late-Night Sandwich Eggs-travaganza party, Israeli Brunch hosted by Michael Solomonov and Rooftop Rosé at The Top of the Standard.

“We are grateful to all of the talent, partners and fans who support NYCWFF – it takes a village, as they say, and we’re thankful to everyone who joins us to EAT. DRINK. END HUNGER,” Schrager says. “We want to continue celebrating great wine, food and spirits via unique events that drive awareness and raise funds to help close the gap on hunger in our country.”
